SPLRFD ‑ LRFD STEEL GIRDER SPLICE DESIGN AND ANALYSIS

Purpose:

To analyze or design a steel girder splice in accordance with the AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Design Manual Part 4.  The program can design or analyze the following splice components: web splice plates, web splice bolts, top flange splice plates, bottom flange splice plates, and bottom flange splice bolts. The analysis and design are based on dead loads, live loads, pedestrian loads. The top and bottom flange configuration can consist of either one outer plate, two inner plates, or both one outer and two inner plates. The splice girder section can be composite, non-composite, homogeneous or hybrid.

Input:

Design loads (moments and shears at a girder splice section), material properties, girder section properties, splice pates, bolts and bolt pitches.

Output:

Echo print of input values, splice plates flexural stresses, shear forces fatigue stress range, splice bolt bearing forces, shear strengths, slip resistance, bolt spacings, block shear and other analysis and specifications checking results.
