CBA ‑ CONTINUOUS BEAM ANALYSIS

Purpose:

To compute moments, shears, reactions, rotations and deflections of a continuous beam in accordance with the 1994 AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications for a given loading condition of a uniform load, a series of uniform or trapezoidal loads, a series of concentrated loads, a moving load, a support settlement, fixed end actions due to creep and shrinkage or temperature gradient.  A maximum of twenty spans, simple or continuous with in‑span hinges, can be analyzed.  The beam can have variable moments of inertia.  The live load can be an LRFD loading, an AASHTO loading, a pedestrian load or a user defined loading including a combination of truck over lane load. Either metric (SI) or U.S. Customary units can be specified for computations.

Input:

Beam data, design live loads, span lengths, hinge locations, analysis points, moments of inertia, dead loads, special live loads, support settlements, fixed end actions, and live load distribution factors.

Output:

Moment, shear, moment‑shear interaction and deflection at each analysis point, reaction and rotation at each support.
