BSP ‑ BEAM SECTION PROPERTIES

Purpose:

To compute the section properties of a steel or prestressed concrete beam or girder in accordance with the 1994 AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications. Properties can be calculated for a steel wide flange beam, plate girder, built‑up section, composite or non composite, homogeneous or hybrid and for a prestressed concrete I beam, box beam, plank beam with or without circular voids. Properties can be calculated in either metric (SI) or U. S. Customary units.

Input:

Slab dimensions and properties, steel beam dimensions and properties, prestressed concrete beam dimensions, section loss/addition and rivet data.

Output:

Elastic properties such as moment of inertia, neutral axis location, section modulii, radii of gyration both for composite and non composite section subjected to either positive or negative flexure and plastic section properties as required for design of a steel or prestressed concrete beam by the AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications.
