PSLRFD Version 1.4a Upgrade - Please read before installing.           4/28/2000

Introduction
------------
The accompanying software (UPDATE.exe and PSLRFDv1-4a.exe) will upgrade your
PC's installation of PSLRFD Version 1.4 to PSLRFD Version 1.4a.

Downloading the Upgrade
-----------------------
Download the upgrade from the Internet by keying in the following address into
your web browser:   http://aashto.bakerprojects.com/lrfd
Then click on the Downloads link and keying the login name and password that
were supplied to all licensed users.  Once you are logged into the Downloads
area click on the link to download the file PS1-4a.exe.  Then select a
directory on your computer where the file should be saved.

Installing the Upgrade

After downloading PS1-4a.exe from the Internet, double click on PS1-4a.exe
that was provided to you, to extract UPDATE.exe and PSLRFDv1-4a.exe and select
the folder where the PSLRFD V1.4 installation resides.

Then run UPGRADE.exe by double-clicking on it.  UPDATE will activate
PSLRFDv1-4a.exe as PSLRFD.exe.  The current PSLRFD.exe (V1.4) will be
renamed as PSLRFD_old.exe.  This file then can by deleted and/or archived.
A message will appear when UPDATE has successfully completed the upgrade.
Double-clicking on PSLRFD.exe will now run V1.4a.





Note: PSLRFDv1-4a.exe will not run as is.  It must first activated by
running UPDATE.exe.
