PS3 ‑ PRESTRESSED CONCRETE GIRDER
Purpose:
To analyze, design and rate a simple span pre‑tensioned prestressed concrete beam of known cross section (box, plank or I beam) used in a highway bridge. The program will design a beam for a required prestressing force and eccentricity. The program will also design a beam for required debonded lengths for a given strand pattern and a prestressing force. Beams with straight, draped, or debonded strands are considered. The criteria used for design are in accordance with Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Design Manual Part 4.
Input:
Span and load data, stress criteria, stirrup details (optional), strand details, debonded strand details and beam dimensions or beam properties.
Output:
A complete design or analysis with section properties, maximum moments, ultimate moment capacity, prestress losses, stresses, shears and ratings at different loading stages, deflections, camber and principal stresses.
