PAPIER – PENNSYLVANIA PIER ANALYSIS
Purpose:
To analyze and check specifications for bridge piers in accordance with the AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications, AASHTO Standard (LFD) Specifications and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Design Manual Part 4. Pier types can be hammerhead piers, wall piers, multiple column piers, and multiple columns set on a solid shaft. Footing types can be pile or spread, and individual or combined. Either metric (SI) or US Customary (US) units can be specified for the LRFD Specifications. Only US units can be specified for the LFD Specifications.
Input:
Cap, columns and footing dimensions, pile geometry, material strength, specification criteria and loading data.
Output:
Echo print of input values, loading combinations (AASHTO limit states and load groups), moments, axial forces, shears, fatigue stresses, serviceability stresses, pile capacity, footing bearing and settlement capacity, and capacity-to-demand ratios of pier components.
